Terminal 1, from MN 5 by Glumack Drive
Driving in yourself, you would leave MN 5 for Glumack Drive. Hotel shuttles stop on Level 1 of the ramps beside Terminal 1, and lot shuttles also pick up inside those ramps rather than at the departures curb. The lot's own instructions name the exact door, and we read them out on the callback.
By shuttle road, Highland Park sits closest to Terminal 1: 3.0 miles, about 7 minutes. Bloomington comes next at 3.2 miles and 8 minutes, then Eagan at 5.7 miles and 10 minutes. Your own drive to the lot counts too. For most areas north and east of the airport, Highland Park adds the fewest minutes when you fly from Terminal 1. South of the Minnesota River, Bloomington adds the fewest minutes from most areas and ties with Eagan from Apple Valley and Lakeville; from Eagan itself the Eagan lot adds just 1 minute.
Getting to Terminal 2 off 34th Avenue South
A driver headed for Terminal 2 leaves I-494 at 34th Avenue South and turns north. Lot and hotel shuttles pull into this terminal's Ground Transport Center at ground level of the Purple Ramp, again apart from the departures curb. By road the two terminals are roughly 3 miles apart, 9 to 10 minutes, which is why we ask for the right one when you send the request.
Bloomington is the nearest place to Terminal 2: 1.7 miles of shuttle road, about 6 minutes. Its two lots run shuttles through the night and collect you at your car. For most areas in the table it is the shortest detour to Terminal 2; from Downtown Minneapolis it adds 4 minutes, from Edina 3. Highland Park reaches Terminal 2 in 10 minutes, though those runs come on call and you phone the lot from the pickup area. Eagan needs 13 minutes.
Free light rail between the two terminals
The light rail joins Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 and runs 24 hours a day, and riding it between the two costs nothing. With it, a shuttle that stops at a single terminal still gets you to either one, for a few extra minutes on the train.
Some hotel lots send their shuttle to Terminal 1 only. Flying from Terminal 2, you ride that shuttle to Level 1 at Terminal 1, then take the train across. Coming home, the order flips: train to Terminal 1 first, then the hotel shuttle. When a hotel lot works this way, we tell you on the callback, so the extra minutes are known before you say yes. The free train settles three cases:
- A hotel shuttle that serves Terminal 1 only
- Stepping off at the wrong Ground Transport Center
- Finding out at the airport that your flight leaves from the other terminal
Check your terminal before we reserve
Your terminal appears on your flight details and on your boarding pass. Please look before sending the request, since the whole quote hangs on it: we pick the lot with the shortest detour for that terminal, and we read out where its shuttle stops. If you are unsure, we ask you to check before we reserve a thing.
If you learn later that you gave the wrong terminal, phone in a window or send the form with the word "change" and the name on the reservation. We pass the change to the lot during the next window and look at the table again for the terminal you really use. We charge nothing for a change; the lot's own rules on changes still apply.
